Mary Morrissey
Mary Morrissey is the President of Forum Consulting, a management consulting company whose focus is on working with public and private sector managers to bring collaborative processes and innovative solutions to complex leadership challenges. Mary Morrissey has over 20 years experience as a Senior Manager, consultant and executive trainer; 16 of those as a Professor of Continuing Education and later Dean of Henson College of Public Affairs and Continuing Education, Dalhousie University. In 1999 she was recognized as a "top CEO" (Globe and Mail, Atlantic Business Magazine) for leadership in designing and managing complex organizational change. She has been credited with making the University more responsive to the needs of adult learners and the economy, and contributing to the development of regional economic strategy and human resource capacity.
Mary has consulted widely in the areas of organizational development and strategic planning. She has led major initiatives in provincial economic strategy and public policy development. An explicit focus in her work has been her commitment to the improvement of management education and practices. She has been responsible for initiating and leading academic and industry partnerships in creating new and innovative graduate programmes (MBA Financial Services, the Master in Information Technology Education), and services (the Adult Learners' Prior Learning Assessment Centre). Her most recent consulting has been in the area of corporate governance and innovation management, where her interest in contributing to the enhancement of management skill, and to the emergence of new models of multi-sectoral collaboration, remains.
