Peter Faid
Peter has been running a small consulting business for the past 12 years, following a decade as Executive Director of the Edmonton Social Planning Council. Since 1990 he has done work with most of the major municipalities in Alberta, and many of the small ones. He has regularly provided services to six or seven provincial government departments: focusing on Health & Wellness, Social Services, Education, Community Development, Human Resources & Employment and Environmental Protection. Federally he has worked with Health Canada and HRDC. Along with contracts with professional associations, such as the Alberta Medical Association, Alberta Association of Registered Social Workers and Alberta Contractors Association, he has enjoyed work with many, many non-profit agencies and community organizations. A lot of his work over the past decade has been with disability organizations, which in turn has meant that more recently he has been involved in major policy review projects on suicide prevention, crisis intervention services in rural communities, individualized funding for persons with developmental disabilities, acquired brain injury, guide dogs & assistive animals, communication policies for deaf & hard of hearing and the formation of a 'forum' for 41 provincial disability associations. He has also worked with a number of health authorities, children service authorities, Alberta Mental Health Board, Persons with Developmental Disability Community Boards, school districts, churches, community colleges and universities.
Peter provides a range of services, including policy reviews, program evaluations, needs assessments, community development projects, public consultation processes, strategic planning workshops and, intersectoral collaborations.
