Individual & Group Coaching
Individual Coaching
Results
you can Expect from One-on-One Coaching: Coaching
will help you grow your capacity as a leader while you are
in the heat of the action. The skills you'll strengthen
through our work together will serve you long after our
sessions have ended. As a result of the coaching, you will
be more able to make adaptations on your own. Coaching is
not about advice-giving (mentoring), or healing underlying
wounds (counseling). I will be working with you using issues
you are facing right now to help you build key skills so
that you can create the results you want, become more effective
and satisfied in your work and in your life. Henry
Mintzberg and McGill University School of Management refers
to this kind of development as the "third wave of management
development" (Ottawa, NTL National Meeting, August
2006)-- learning from your own experience while you are
living it.
Here's
How it Works: You and I will meet in a free introductory
session to get a sense of each other and whether you think
we can work together and coaching is what you need at this
time. Then, we'll proceed with one session for intake and
assessment and a follow up meeting during which I will propose
a program to you. The program will outline developmental
objectives for you and number of sessions I think we'll
need to achieve those objectives. Once we agree on your
program, we'll meet (in person or over the phone) every
two to three weeks for an hour-long coaching session. Between-session
quick consultations are available too - by phone or by e-mail.
Between sessions, you will be actively using your day-to-day
experiences to strengthen your competencies, related to
the topic on which you are focusing. Likely we'll be working
together for at least six months - but we can re-contract
at any time as circumstances change.
